这个项目包含了双重含义：既指尚未到来的“未来”（future），也指一种可交易的金融商品“期货”（futures）。该项目将目前尚缺席的政治权利转化为了一种实体资产。通过把未来的选票变成“期货”，一项被延期的政治权利得以在当下的市场中被实现。
艺术家以行动办公室名义，邀请中国大陆公民设想自己首次参与直选国家最高领导人的年份，并将这张未来的选票提前转让。这项转让权利被制作成了一张可供收藏的集换式卡牌，并附有证书与档案记录。这些选票由此变成了期货进入市场供人收藏，而行动办则负责监督这些选票的持续有效性。首批9张卡牌于2024年1月13日（即台湾大选当天）进行拍卖，当天共有3张被藏家收入。
此项目是一项长期计划，未来将邀请更多的未来选民加入，而行动办也将继续协助完成这些选票的转让。

Future Vote plays on the dual meaning of its title: "future" as a time yet to come, and "futures" as a tradable financial commodity. The project transforms a currently absent political right into a physical asset. By turning future ballots into "futures," it allows a deferred political right to be realized, priced, and circulated in the market today.
Under the name of the Action Office, Bolun invites Chinese citizens in mainland China to identify the year they imagine first participating in a direct election of China’s highest leader, and to transfer this future vote in advance. This right to transfer is designed as a collectible trading card, accompanied by a certificate and archival record. The votes become futures, entering the market to be collected, while the Action Office oversees their ongoing effectiveness. The first batch of 9 cards was auctioned on January 13, 2024, the day of the Taiwan presidential election, with 3 cards collected that day.
Future Vote is a long-term initiative, designed to welcome more future voters, with the Action Office continuing to facilitate their transfers.
